Ladies and Gentlemen,

Spring is here and another national championship for the Buckeyes.  The wrestling team won their first National Championship, and while, Cadet Jack Rozema and Cadet Joshua Fox didn’t compete in the championship, they were members of the varsity wrestling team and helped get them to the championship. Congratulations!

State of the Corps of Cadets. We have 157 enrolled cadets. We’ve contracted 108 of those cadets and will commission 36 this year.

Hall of Fame Dinner.  A special thanks to LTC(R) Don Hulslander!!! The Alumni Society Hall of Fame Dinner was another huge success. Nearly 200 alumni, cadets, cadre, family and friends attended the event at the Fawcett Center. The Alumni Society awarded over $28,000 in scholarships to the cadets. If you are not a member of the society, I strongly encourage you to join.  Their support is critical to the program’s success and they need your support. The Alumni Society inducted 4 new members to the hall of fame. Congratulations to COL (R) James Papritan, COL (R) Jeffery Young, COL Farrell Duncombe, and CPT Edward Korte!

German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge.  Cadets and cadre traveled to Indiana University to compete for the GAFB. 17 Army Cadets, 2 Air Force Cadets, and 1 Cadre member competed. 14 received the gold badge, 1 earned the silver, and 2 bronze. Great job!

Patriot Project Road March:  Cadet Evan Beachler organized a team  to participate in the Patriot Project Road March in Clinton, Ohio this past week.  The 8 mile road march with 35 pound ruck sack is an event to raise money for the Patriot Project.  The Patriot Project is a grass roots movement to provide chiropractic care to all Active Military, their Families, Wounded Warriors & All Gold Star Dependents. It’s a little known fact that chiropractic care is included in veteran’s health benefits, and it’s an underutilized option. The Patriot Project aims to change this by making chiropractic care readily available to our service members.  The team took first place in the military division.

Senior Breakfast. The OSU Army ROTC Alumni Society conducted the Annual Senior Breakfast to honor all the graduating seniors. Mr. Andy Gurd, the Chief Operating Officer for the Ohio State Alumni Association was the guest speaker. Graduating Cadets received their gold bar and are now in their final approach towards commissioning.

Annual Awards.  We conducted our annual awards ceremony. This is the end of the year awards ceremony where we recolonize outstanding cadets. We presented 45 awards to deserving cadets.  I don’t have room to list them all, so I’ve attached the list of awardees.  Congratulations to all the awardees!
