Key Assignments: CPT Sowder is a current member of the Ohio Army National Guard. His most recent assignment was Commander of Alpha Battery, 1-134th Field Artillery Regiment, 37th Infantry Brigade Combat Team where he commanded for 18 months. Prior to command, he was the Operations Officer and Battalion Fire Direction Officer for the 1-134th Field Artillery Regiment and Battalion Effects Coordinator for the 1-148th Infantry Regiment. As a Lieutenant, he served as a Platoon Leader and Fire Direction Officer for Bravo Battery, 1-134th Field Artillery Regiment. He was also assigned as an Aide-de-Camp to BG McHenry, 38th Infantry Division Deputy Commander of Logistics.
CPT Sowder’s full-time positions within the Ohio Army National Guard include: G1 Budget Officer, G1 Mobilization, Plans and Operations Officer and 1-134th Field Artillery Regiment Training Officer.
Personal: CPT Sowder is married to Shannon and has two children, Adelynn (4) and Hudson (2).
