Master Sergeant Casey Mallette was born in Rome, GA. He enlisted in the United States Army in 2002 as a 19D Cavalry Scout, and attended One Station Unit Training at Ft. Knox KY.

Master Sergeant Mallette has served in numerous units throughout his career and has held leadership positions in Armor, Infantry, and Cavalry organizations. He has served as a Driver, Gunner, Section Sergeant, and Platoon Sergeant in a Scout Platoon. He has also served as a Drill Sergeant and First Sergeant in OSUT. His prior assignments include 1-509th ABN BN (FT Polk, LA), 1-16th CAV SQD 316th CAV BDE (Ft. Knox, KY), 4-73rd CAV SQD 4th BDE 82D ABN DIV (FT Bragg, NC), 5-15 CAV SQD, 194th AR BDE (FT Knox, KY), 1-91st RSTA SQD, 173rd ABN BDE( Schweinfurt, DE), 3-338th TSB, 199th (Blacklick, OH), 5-15th CAV SQD and the United States Army Armor School, (FT Benning, GA), and most recently as the Senior Military Instructor at The Ohio State University.

Master Sergeant Mallette has completed three combat tours to include one tour in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and two in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.

Master Sergeant Mallette’s military education includes the Basic Leader’s Course, the Advanced Leader’s Course, the Senior Leader’s Course, and the Master Leaders Course, Company Commander and 1SG course. MSG Mallette is also a graduate of the United States Army Airborne School, Battle Staff Course, Combatives Level 1, Drill Sergeant School and SHARP Certification Course.

His awards and decorations include the Combat Action Badge, Aviator Crew Members Badge, Parachutist Badge, Drill Sergeant Badge, Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart, Air Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal with Valor, Army Commendation Medal (6 oak leaf clusters), the Army Achievement Medal (5 oak leaf cluster), Valorous Unit Award, the Good Conduct Medal (6th award), the Nation Defense Service Medal, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal with 1 Campaign Star, the Global War on Terror Expeditionary Medal, the Global War on Terror Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Ribbon (3rd), and the NATO Medal. He is a recipient of the Order of the Silver Spur and the Order of Saint George, Bronze Medallion.

Master Sergeant Mallette is married to Christy Mallette from Louisville, KY. They have three children, Bailey who is currently serving in the 173rd ABN BDE, Brianna, and Brayden.
