Lieutenant Colonel Steven M. Spiker is a native of Clarion, Pennsylvania and was commissioned through Officer Candidate School in 2007 as an Adjutant General Officer.

His civilian and military education includes: a Bachelor’s Degree in Health and Physical Education (Slippery Rock University, 2002), a Master’s Degree in Human Resources Management (Webster University, 2013), a Master’s Degree in National Security and Strategic Studies (U.S. Naval War College, 2018), Adjutant General Officer Basic Course, Adjutant General Advanced Course and Air Assault School.

Lieutenant Colonel Spiker’s assignments include Battalion Human Resources Officer, 1st Battalion, 377th Field Artillery Regiment, 17th Fires Brigade; Operations Officer, Columbus Military Entrance Processing Station; Battalion Human Resources Officer, 1st Battalion, 67th Armor Regiment, 4th Infantry Division; Plans and Operations Officer In Charge, Division G1, 4th Infantry Division; Company Commander, 22nd Human Resources Company, 4th Infantry Division; Brigade Human Resources Officer, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division; Deputy G1, 3rd Infantry Division, BDE Human Resources Officer, OIC/OC-T, 188th Infantry Brigade, First Army; Professor of Military Science, Capital University, United States Cadet Command.

His awards and decorations include: Bronze Star Medal (w/ 1 OLC), Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (w/ 2 OLC), Army Commendation Medal (w/ 3 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (w/ 1 OLC), Good Conduct Medal, Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal (w/ 3 Campaign Stars), Afghanistan Campaign Medal (w/ 1 Campaign Star), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Armed Service Ribbon, Army Overseas Ribbon (w/ Numeral 4) and NATO Medal. 

Lieutenant Colonel Spiker and his wife Mrs. Christina Spiker, an Ohio State Alumna have two sons: Benjamin, a student at The Ohio State University and Heath, a future Buckeye. He resides in Bexley, Ohio.
