Staff Sergeant (SSG) Angelo Fox is a Recruiting and Retention Noncommissioned Officer with the Ohio Army National Guard Recruiting and Retention Battalion. With eight years of dedicated military service, he began his career in 2018 as a Motor Transport Operator (88M). His key assignments include a 2020 deployment to Kuwait
with the 1487th Transportation Company in support of Operation Spartan Shield and Operation Inherent Resolve, where he served as a Team Leader executing transportation missions throughout the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility. For the past three years, SSG Fox has served as an Active Guard Reserve Soldier, supporting enlistment and retention efforts across Allen and Van Wert counties.
SSG Fox’s military achievements include being named the 371st Sustainment Brigade Noncommissioned Officer of the Year at the 2021 Ohio Best Warrior Competition and the Recruiting and Retention Battalion Noncommissioned Officer of the Year in 2025. His military education includes the Basic Leader Course, Advanced Leader Course, and the Master Fitness Trainer Course. His awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal, three Army Achievement Medals, the Expert Recruiter Badge, the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, and the Armed Forces Service Ribbon with “M” Device.
In his civilian capacity, SSG Fox serves as a Firefighter/EMT with the City of Lima Fire Department. He holds a Paramedic Certificate from Rhodes State College and is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in ministry leadership and biblical studies from Southeastern University. He is married with four children and is an active volunteer at his church.
